В 1982 году "новым романтикам" "Алтравокс" пришла пора доказывать свою концертную состоятельность. Никто, вобщем, и не сомневался, но так заведено. Группа работает с 1977 года, с 1980-го активно использует клавишные, электронику и приёмы "новой волны". Вкрались сомнения. Для записи "Вены" приглашается легендарный сэр Джордж Мартин, однако час настал и пора было уже запечатлеть в аналах умение играть "вживую".
Сцену украсили авторской архитектурной комозицией и тремя наборами синтезаторных установок. Но всё по-честному: живой вокал и сопровождение. Первый артефакт выпустили на виниле 30-минутным концертом. Эта запись мне тогда понравилась, досаду вызвал лишь короткий треклист. С тех пор "Монумент - саундтрек" отошёл на задний план (ну кто же будет собирать зальники, если основные альбомы группы ещё не собрын?). Как выяснилось - до поры, до времени. 2009 года дал переиздание всего каталога, среди которого "Монумент" не стал изгоем. Добавили видео-диск с ТЕМ САМЫМ концертом, хроникой-вступлением, монтажом-клипами. Суммарное время увеличилось не намного, однако издание обрело весомость и завершённость. CD-ишный звук и съёмка крупным планом позволят вам оставить CD для худших времён, т.к. "Monument The DVD" станут тем самым единственным диском в этом наборе.

The CD features the original six track album along with two tracks added for the first reissue in 1996 and is now augmented by the previously unreleased "The Song (We Go)". The DVD is the same program as the original VHS release and also features a gallery of shots taken from the shows and the Quartet recording sessions. Monument was Ultravox's first live document and was originally released in October 1983 as six track mini album. Filmed and recorded over four nights in December 1982 at the Hammersmith Odeon. EMI.
Ultravox Biography
Ultravox is a British New Wave rock band. They were one of the primary exponents of the British electronic pop music movement of the late 1970s/early 1980s. The band was particularly associated with the New Romantic and New Wave movements.
This band was effectively led by two different individuals in its career, two frontmen who, curiously, never played together in the band at the same time. From 1974 until 1979, the frontman and main driving force behind Ultravox was John Foxx who left the band to embark on a solo career that proved very short-lived. Some time following Foxx's departure, with the three remaining members in a hiatus, Midge Ure took over as lead singer, guitarist and frontman, and he managed to revitalize the band, and drive it to massive commercial success which lasted until the middle 1980s when the New Romantic and New wave music scenes had waned. Ure then left the band in 1987 after establishing a solo career and the group disbanded for a while. A new line-up, led by sole original bandmember Billy Currie, was formedin 1992, but achieved no success. The band's most well known line-up of Currie, Cross, Cann and Ure reformed in 2008 and have toured together since then.

Привычка и сила русского аналога меня также ВСЕГДА склоняют сказать "ультра..."
