Наткнулся тут на очередную статью, в которой делается обзор toslink'овский кабелей.... начало такое "бодренькое", все вроде по теме, и физика процесса описана.. и причины возможных проблем правдоподобно указаны..
Но как дело дошло до самих кабелей.. опять повылазили: "узкие сцены", "воздушность", "фокус" и прочая аудиофильская ересь...
Я вот понять не могу... то-ли статьи эти все проплачены... то-ли автор му... некомпетентный человек... то-ли действительно кабели нереально сравнивать "научными" методами...

В общем.. решил провести такой простой эксперимент... пустить по оптике DTS сигнал...
Для чистоты эксперимента решил воспользоваться максимально "тупым" оборудованием... для чего сваял такую конструкцию:

Заправил в её DTS-CD... сигнал спокойно дошел до ресивера и распаковался... за все время тестирования (несколько часов) ни разу не слышал чтоб вместо звука был шум.. но..несколько раз было такое что, громкость музыка на несколько секунда несколько уменьшалась, а потом снова становилось нормальной...

P.S. Ещё странным показалась тяга такого отпетого хард-рокера (подчёркиваю) к панковой манере подачи: как тока "быстрая" вещь - так вот вам и панк. Модно щас чтоль? Исключения в виде медлячков (и верно, недурных) не сильно спасают материал (шумноват саунд). МК микс на них только и слышен: тыловые переклички/потяжки гитары и чего-то ещё. Эх, выбросить отсюда бы весь этот панк, да слушать-то придётся минут 15... Пора разбираться с программированием "Пионера"...

Наконец, внимательно и многократно послушал всю пьесу (с шестимесячными близнецами это не так просто). Это на самом деле редкость, чтобы пятидесятиминутная композиция могла всё время держать слушателя в напряжённом и заинтересованном ожидании - что же будет дальше? - и при этом не утомила, не говоря уже о том, что даже при десятом прослушивании за неделю всё равно драмы в Moonlight Acoustica почти столько же сколько и при самом первом.

Мне особенно понравилась работа дяди на Хаммонде. То, чем хотел, но так и не смог стать Джон Лорд.

Вообще, чувствуется, что люди которые сконструировали и сыграли эту вещь - родом из середины шестидесятых - начала семидесятых.
